The Punjabi vernacular ‘Dungha wah le hal ve teri ghare job’ considers agriculture as better than a job. If agriculture was once superior to trade and employment, then why has it fallen behind both these days? Why do parents want to take their children away from the patriarchal occupation of farming? Why today’s youth has started preferring business or job instead of agriculture?
